Children's Birthday Parties

We now offer Exclusive Use of our Boat on Sundays!  Enjoy your party with only you and your guests on board.  Available at 11am and 2pm every Sunday (subject to availability)

 

We offer a range of Party Packages to help you celebrate your Little Ones's special day.  All party packages are priced for a minimum of 10 children.  For parties of less than 10 children then normal Studio prices will be charged.  Maximum numbers are limited to the size of the boat and vary slightly depending on the age of the child and if we need to accommodate parents too. Please call us to discuss your requirements.

 

A dedicated member of staff will be on hand at all times to give help and encouragement, however children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.

 

Parties last approximately 1 hour for all Packages. We decorate the boat with banners and all children receive a balloon and sticker at the end of the party. 

 

Food is not included in the Packages - we do not have the facilities to prepare and serve food on our boat.  We do offer you the option to bring your own party food on board, for which we charge just an extra £20 to hire your space for an additional 45 minutes.  

 

All Children's Parties on The Mug Tug are suitable for children aged 5 years and upwards with no upper age limit.  Because we are a narrowboat with limited space we, unfortunately, do not have the capacity for lots of adults to stay with the party - and it makes the boat too rocky!  At 5 years, children are used to being left at school and are usually more than happy to be dropped off at a Birthday Party.

Party Animal Package - £17.50 per head

                                                           Each child may choose 1 item from a selection of any                                                    of our 19 party animals.

                                             

                                                  Our Celebration Plate is not included in this package                                                      but may be  purchased separately if wished.

                                           

                                                  Available in both Underglaze (shiny) or Acrylic Paint.

                                                  Underglazed pottery needs to be left with us to glaze                                                      and fire.. Ready for collection in approx 1 week. 

                                                  Acrylic painted pottery may be taken home on the day.

                                                  Each child may choose 1 item from the selection of                                                        19 party animals and a selection of larger figurines                                                        and pen pots as shown.

                                                  Acrylic painted pottery may be taken home on the day.

Adults Parties

Don't forget The Mug Tug is for all children aged from zero to 100 years!  And Grown-Ups have more fun than the children on our boat.  So what excuse do you need to get your friends together for a party? We’ve helped Grown Up Kids celebrate a variety of occasions with their friends on board – Retirement, Hen Do, Leaving Do, Wedding Anniversary, The Big ‘Noughties’ (30’s/40’s/50’s etc). And we’ve had a variety of pictures painted too, some too rude to publish here! We don’t shock easily on The Mug Tug so your guests are free to be as creative as they wish.

You can join us during our normal opening hours or in an evening by prior arrangement. There is no minimum guest numbers during the day, a minimum of 10 people in an evening, and you just pay our normal Studio prices.  Bringing refreshments is encouraged – nibbles and something 'fruity' or bubbly always helps the party go with a swing - and we provide wine glasses!

Hen parties on The Mug Tug are great for Hen's of all generations.  So, if you've invited Grandma along and she can't quite manage the Llama trekking activity you've got planned in the morning then she'll have great fun on our Boat - along with your little sister who you don't want to feel left out.

 

Just book a table for the number of Hens in your party and you pay our normal studio prices - starting at about £17.00 each.  

 

Please be aware that other customers may be painting on board at the same time.

​A non-refundable deposit of £5 per person is required at the time of booking for all Hen Parties.  This is then deducted from purchases on the day.  Hens may pay for their items individually on the day.

 

                                                         We provide wine glasses, so bring some nibbles and something                                                             'fruity' or bubbly to help your party go with a swing.

 

                                                         Please keep in mind that adults WILL usually take at least 2 to 2½ hours to paint their creations so if you are booking a taxi/minibus or a table for a meal afterwards you would need to take this into account.

 

And why not paint your Bride a memento of the occasion?  Our cake stand is a firm favourite!  Make at the party or could be made before the event and can be used for cakes on the event and a lovely surprise for the Bride too!  Talk to us about your ideas and we can offer inspiration.
